Carol and Jim Bowen and featured as the donor Donor Spotlight for our 2017-2018 Annual Impact Report. They sat down for and interview with Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center to talk about why they support our organization.
As members of CSHC’s Leadership Circle, Carol and Jim understand that their ability to speak clearly and listen are paramount. Carol is an attorney with Moore & VanAllen and Jim a professor with UNC Charlotte. “Everyone should have the opportunity to lead a productive life and we like that CSHC is helping an underserved need in our community,” states Carol.
Carol and Jim first learned of CSHC from their pediatrician when their youngest son was in need of speech services. “We were exasperated and didn’t know where to turn,” said Carol. “Our son’s speech therapy treatment was successful and with my own hearing issue I know down the road CSHC will be here for me,” said Jim. Carol joined the Board of Directors in 2014 and in Fiscal Year 2017-2018 served as the organization’s Vice-Chair.
